River is an artist originally from Shanghai, China. With a Master of Arts in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art, she began her creative career as a professional illustrator before transitioning into tattooing after relocating to New York.

River’s tattoo work is deeply rooted in her background in fine art, blending organic and inorganic elements to create pieces that are both abstract and evocative. Drawing inspiration from nature—such as plants, water, and geological forms—her tattoos often carry a botanical, ethereal quality that feels both delicate and atmospheric.
